Radio testing
2026-04-23
Without an into this time, decided it's unnecessary.
Two days ago I went up a small hill near my city. I grabbed my radio station, after it finally arrived! It was the first test of my homebrew antenna - an 40m end-fed half wave (for those that don't understand it's just 40m of cable connected to the radio). Aaaand... It went great! I made around 12 contacts across Europe, but nothing further. Still, the quality of the signals were outstanding, I didn't know it could be THAT good. I will post some photos when I get back home.
When I tried to do a second antenna test yesterday, I almost fried my radio. I don't know how, only that the fuse on the power cable popped and that the radio is fine. I'll get to the reason why that happened. Sooner or later. Until then I'll probably pause my trips.
I started internship in my school. Actually, the building next to it but who cares. Right now it's the third day, and it's going pretty well. I learned some new stuff, though most of it is Linux which is kind of my second nature. Even though it takes six hours from my day, it's still better than school, it doesn't overstimulate me that much, which makes surviving the day a little easier. I'm still a little tired though from all of this.
Goodbye for now :3
